I’m Ellen, I’m an animator as well as a video editor majoring in software engineering here at UTD.

In terms of sexuality, I identify as a lesbian. In terms of gender, the most accurate description I can give is non-binary leaning towards to feminine spectrum.

My identity is important to me because I believe knowing myself and therefore loving myself is important if I were to want to live a fulfilling life/ a life true to myself. Not only is it important for me to live as myself, it’s also important for anyone who might be just like me. When LGBT+ people see someone who is prosperous-a type of person I’m definitely working towards being- they believe that they too will become prosperous. If a usually quiet Chinese immigrant lesbian who doesn’t come from money can achieve so much, then so can anyone who is like me.

As I mentioned before I am a Chinese immigrant, but I’ve lived in the US since I was about three. Another thing I suppose I ought to mention is that I’m part of UTDTV and I’m currently working on/directing an animated music video that I plan to submit to the Cosmic Film Festival.
