My name is Louise, or Lou for short.
I identify as a first generation Filipino-American.
My identity is important to me because I believe my strongest relationship should be with myself and to be comfortable as the person I am and the person I am becoming. There were moments when my younger self felt “too Asian” or “too American” but never enough of both. My upbringing taught me that my identity is not something that has to be proved but rather something that exists simply because I do.
I consider myself many things: an artist, writer, reader, poet, mythology-lover, a friend, but above all else, I am a storyteller. I want to be able to tell stories in any way shape or form and I am constantly learning how to tell my story better through different mediums and reaching farther audiences.
